Welcome to my site!
I’m Dr Eleanor Ward and I run Wealth of Knowledge Tuition. I provide tutoring all over Cheshire, and into Staffordshire.
I have PhD in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Manchester. I also have a First Class BA(Hons) Degree in English and American Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Kent, and a MSc (Merit) from King’s College London in Medical Humanities. I am also an Associate of King’s College London (AKC). Additionally, I have experience with studying abroad as I spent a year at The University of California, Irvine.
My PhD has also involved extensive research in Disability Studies, so in conjunction with a high level of knowledge of English I am able to teach, and understand the special needs of some students with a lot of depth. I have now been in higher education for eleven years, so I am well versed in both the requirements of GCSEs, A-Levels and degree level work, as well as experienced in tutoring and lecturing.
Within my tutoring sessions I focus on the skills required across the different disciplines, and the interchangable expertise this can provide my students in all their subjects, whether they are approaching SATs, GCSEs, A-Levels or beyond.
I am a published writer, and have been published in a variety of magazines and anthologies, as well as winning many awards for my poetry. I can teach creative writing, as well as give advice on where and when to submit work.
I keep up to date with the curriculum, while also considering how I can teach the subjects interestingly to different types of students. Most of all I love the enthusiasm my students show me in their tutored subjects!
I am a vastly experienced tutor and have had many students improve their grades and confidence with their subjects (as you can see from my reviews!)
I also have experience lecturing students at The University of Bolton in the English Literature Department. I have multiple students who I enjoy teaching
I also have a lot of prior experience with working with children with additional needs as a manager in a National Children`s Charity.
I teach very flexibly, and always adapt my lessons to the individual needs of the student, making sure we focus on the curriculum, while also concentrating on the weaknesses and strengths of the tutee. Exam skills are often the most integral things we learn together, and can also improve their attainment in other subjects outside of the Humanities.
I’m friendly and approachable, and hope to work together with the tutee and the parents to achieve the desired outcome of the sessions. I really enjoy teaching, and hope that comes across to the students.
